Advantages: Great compers - realistic chance of winning, too.

Disadvantages: The "crafty" ideas are sometimes a bit naff.

My wife has been buying "Practical Parenting" for about 3 years now, and we keep all the back issues in a drawer, as a valuable source of reference. What is the point of buying all these "Babycare" books, when you have real life "case studies", offering useful tips from REAL people?

Unlike other magazines of the same genre, this magazine doesn't repeat itself too much, even after 3 years, there are still articles about subjects never before covered.

Also, this magazine usually has at least two pages of free to enter competitions -the ones where you have to send in a postcard. I have actually been lucky enough to win several of these over the years - nothing very major, but a nice suprise nonetheless.

There is usually a useful free gift attached, again these freebies don't repeat themselves too often, having said that we do own three of their cover cassette tapes with songs for toddlers on, and two videos!

Definately the best of the bunch, particularly for "real" stories and free gifts and compers.
