Advantages: affordable, informative!

Disadvantages: not published enough would prefer it every two weeks rather than every month!

I was delighted when I discovered this magazine! There was a real gap in the market for this, having a pair of bearded dragons and 2 whites tree frogs myself, I am very interested in the advice and information this magazine has to offer.
Living in Edinburgh there is only one reptile shop in the area that I am aware of and whilst the staff are very helpful and on hand to answer any questions I may have the shop can become very busy and sometimes they just don't have the time!
This is where this magazine really came through for me with its regular section on Q's and A's which itself deals in addressing the problems that readers may want answered.
Also a favourite of mines is the feature on jewels of the rain forest which looks in depth at Dart Frogs. All the information you'd need such as dietary needs, housing, etc as well as having other regulars such as a vet doing a casebook based on real problems and a photo section of readers and their pets as well as news and views and spotlight on shops.

As well as all this you also get features and one off pieces on different animals and information on the best places to shop.
Another thing this magazine has to offer is its advertisement sections as many of these reptile shops are fairly unknown it provides a key service not just to the shops but for the customer as well. It also has websites advertised which opened up a whole array of information to me which I now find invaluable.

Overall I cant really fault practical reptile magazine for anything. A great buy for anyone interested in reptiles and those wishing to learn.
