Advantages: Well laid-out and well-written
Disadvantages: Probably more suited for women when they reach late 20s/ early 30s and beyond
Well, Prima is another magazine I bought last week just because it promised a freebie with it!
I really am a sucker for freebies but am I glad I bought Prima!
Tow reasons really:
- the freebie: you have to cut the coupon inside the magazine and take to any Elizabeth Arden counters in large Boots. You then get a free consultation (where you just have to pretend you may be interested in their products) and then you either buy something or you don't (like me) and they give you a superb Eyeshadow quad (the Go Red for Women special edition).
They say it's usually worth £25 pounds but when scanned it said £10. Still one of the best freebies ever.
Ok I did have to buy a magazine. Prima costs £2.50 but Asda sell them for £1.50!
So even better.
_ the December issue is very much focused on Christmas, which I don't mind.
You will find lots of advice on gifts, what to wear, how to set your festive table, some recipes. I find the articles on what Christmas means to some people very touching in places. There are also some really good tips on how to cope with the stress of organising Christmas. I know it is often talked about, I found it useful nonetheless.
I also liked the make over pages as it gave me a glimmer of hope. Yes, anybody can look better with better make-up and better hair styling. It is reassuring to see the before/after photos.
I think the quality of writing is very good and the photos absolutely gorgeous. They'll make you look forward to Christmas I think.
It is a magazine I'd definitely recommend and will consider buying again especially if it has a great freebie or coupon for great freebie inside!
Summary: A good straighforward lifestyle magazine filled with tips
