Prizes Galore is a monthly magazine available by subscription. It contains about 50 pages of competitions in the form of word searches, crosswords, film quizzes, number puzzles etc and each one offers at least one prize. Depending on how you feel about puzzles, these are either a fun way to pass all your spare moments, or a bit of tedious drudgery which might be worth it if the prize is good. Either way, however, the prizes are variable. In a typical issue, they range from paperback books, videos and toiletries to a television, weekend break or foreign holiday. On balance, it is a good magazine for those who do enjoy puzzles, is delivered to the door, and compares well with some over-the-counter ones. It does at least have prizes for every single puzzle, unlike some magazines. On level of difficulty, I would say that it is about on a par with, say, Take a Break, but has one irritating flaw. Almost every single month there is at least one puzzle which has been printed with an error, often making it literally impossible to solve. Despite this, I quite enjoy completing this magazine's puzzles each month, and over the two years I have subscribed I have won a CD, a cookery book and a children's game, but I am not holding my breath for anything more exciting!
