Advantages: Good amount of Video demos

PSM 2 magazine is one of a crop of very good Playstation 2 magazines out there on store shelves. It offers a whole host of content to keep people buying it.

PSM2 magazine in my opinion is on a par/ or a top spot with the official Playstation 2 magazine. I personally like sometimes to get the both official and unofficial views on things. Sometimes the official magazine has better news and preview, after all they can get there news first direct from Sony. While PSM2 magazine tends to give slightly better scores on the Sony made games, although other games I have seen rated in there in my opinion haven’t been rated correctly.

PSM 2 magazine is on of those magazines that offers free demos on the front of the magazine. But be warned demo CD’s that display the DVD VIDEO logo are video only content. Although the magazine is displaying ‘free demos’ they are not playable, just whachable footage, not even rolling rendered scenes.

I do find though that although the official magazine ‘ Playstation 2’ gives a few playable demos, they are old ones, or maybe of a game that has already come out. PSM2 magazine gives you demos of games that are new and are due to come out. There are also far more games featured on the disc, about 15 games compared to other magazines that only have no more than three.

The actual quality of the picture I actually very good. As the videos are on the DVD format the are of a good quality, unlike PS1 demo’s. So they are as good as rendered anyway.

So in my opinion this magazine is a very good one. It provides Reviews, News, Previews and a good standard of game demo disc.

Especially when its only priced at £3.49!
