Q Glastonbury daily

Q is a glossy music magazine this op is about the daily paper they produce at Glastonbury for festival goers to inform of the happenings so since Glasto is this weekend and there is no specific space for this newspaper I thought this would be a suitable place to inform you of its existence and content . Sadly even though I was on phone for over 8 hrs and continuously on the web site I could not get tickets this year , oh well going to see the chilli’s in Hyde park anyway.

If you are going expect the ground to be muddy as Glasto is on clay soil and it had rained this week and clay takes a long time to dry out . have fun if you are going

I have just brought my previous glasto opps to the top of my page if you wish to read them get an idea of what it will be like before you go .

This newspaper is distributed free at the Glastonbury festival by Q magazine.
If you are not familiar with Q it is a monthly music magazine.


It is made available by people wandering the crowds distributing it or it is on the information stalls.
This newspaper is available on each day of the festival.
I found a copy I had brought home and was reading it reminiscing about that glorious weekend. I though I would tell you of its existence and a little about it.

This paper is 16 sides of reading. It contains the stage times of bands so you know what is happening if you have lost the little timetable you are given at the beginning of the festival.
I have Sundays in front of me At 3.30-5.30 on the one world stage I saw/ heard Yes,
I could have seen Damian Rice on the other stage or caught the end of Asian dub foundation and then the sugar babes on the pyramid stage, Seen bright eyes in the new tent or Stanton warriors on the lost stage.
If I had stayed till the end I could have seen Moby at 10.40 on the pyramid stage or Doves on the other stage or in the dance tent was The streets, I cou
ld have listened to Richard Thompson on the acoustic stage or Zion train were on the lost stage maybe seen system seven in the Avalon but it started to
rain we left early to get home so we left for home to sleep before work the next morning
There is a map printed in the paper and a few suggestions how to fill your day it suggests at 6.20 you stroke your beard to the strangely sunny melancholy of Californians granddaddy on the other stage We actually did well my husband stroked his beard while he listened I didn’t.


There is a message board page for any one who wishes to post a message for the whole of Glasto to see some examples are “To Gin A bad few months Lets make this the start of a wonderful new era Love eternal Ryan x” (I wonder if they are still together lots of happy birthday messages. a marriage proposal “ Kev Milne first time at Glasto and you have travelled a long way to be here now you are here will you marry me, you spunky Kiwi, love Ali baby” (I wonder if he said yes any way lots of messages you get the drift.

Information / interviews about/with some, of the bands that are playing.
Information about their tours. An advert for Q magazine and the Glastonbury edition. Lots of adverts.

Lots of pictures, pictures of what’s happening around site, the weird, the wonderful the distressed. A photo of a man in a fluffy purple bra being groped, a photo of a charming young man and his fairy daughter. A photo of the police on stilts arresting a naked woman (a comedy act) a young couple crouched on the floor comforting each other some guy flat out on the floor looking well out of it.

Glastonbury Q contains lots of snippets of info it’s a good read the ground gets littered with them mmmmmm that was good reliving a few glasto moments.
Went to “V” at the weekend it was nowhere as good music fine
but it lacked that certain something might have been partly due to the fact that I mislaid my husband after I went to the toilet. I was wearing my correctiv
e sunglasses and once it began to get dark and I could not see I had not found him and I worried that I would not be able to find car so I left the stage area before the red hot chilli’s and sat by the car to wait for him. He arrived after the festival had finished. Usually we say if we get lost see you at a certain place but this time we made no arrangement oh well such is life.
