Quick Cards Made Easy
Advantages: Full of inspiration, competitions, freebies, cheap
I bought this magazine for many years off and on, and found it to be very helpful to me for my card making. There are things in there that will inspire you, it will give you useful hints and tips, the chance to win competitions, have your say, talk to the crafters and listen to what they have to say about certain products, questions and answers, and much more. Let me go through the magazine with you.
Oh yes you do get freebies with this magazine, every month!! You can either receive one or 2 freebies each month with the magazine, which are value for money. Like this month I receive a Christmas paper stash book, this will help me make my cards look great when I start my Christmas cards, and I also receive a Christmas cd with a lot of goodies on, elements backing papers, tags. Although I cannot use this at the moment as I don't have a printer. The cd's are great for people making a bundle of the same card especially for Christmas if you sell them in boxes, and it would only cost you the ink, so cheaper cards to make but can make you a lot of money. You will also get stamps, or booklet with elements in or just a helpful booklet with inspirational card idea's.
This part of the magazine is great and very useful to many people who is card making. This gives you chance to make the cards shown in the magazine, or to put your own personal touch to them. You will see the photos of the finished card; step by step instructions with photos, top tips, and also the list of materials you will need to make the card, sometimes will help you know where to get them from too. The projects will also tell you how long it will take you to make the card and the level you need to be at with card making. There are many projects to make, you have the chance to also show off your cards, and share with other people how you have made it.
I have made a few cards out of the magazine, sometimes changing the materials to suit myself, the colours used, and also changing the way the card looks. You will also view pages of the freebies you have receive and how to use them on your cards, to make the perfect card. There is also a page or 2 consisting of cheap cards to make and that don't take very long to make.
The magazine will also share with you all top products of the month, some are great and look stunning and others don't interest me. It can be stamps, backing papers, elements, markers, anything. It is great to keep tabs on them though as you could miss out, I love some of the products that are available but it is just having the money to buy
them. It will also show where they are available and how much, mostly you can visit the website where they are available.
A couple of pages within the magazine you have the chance to win card making materials, either by winning a competition, texting a number with a simple word on it (can be expensive but good if you win) filling out simple crosswords and puzzles, or even sending in cards. I cannot say I have ever done any of these as I am not good enough to complete the crosswords or puzzles, but have texted the numbers but only this month. I also don't think I am good enough to be sending in my cards I have made so I won't be doing that either. Its all good fun, and if you win then its more stuff for you to collect and use.
Looking through the magazine you will find various chat and gossip pages, crafters talking about products they own or have bought. There are crafters sending in there cards. Questions and answers between the experience crafters and people who are stuck with idea's, or not sure what to use, or how good something is, you name it, it can be asked and answered. You will see the winners of the last issue, which I am never there as I never enter. Photos of crafters cards, how to make them, materials used. You can view Events nearest to you. There is a chance to share your news, and stories.
((AVAILABILITY & PRICE))
You can buy this magazine at any newsagent or supermarket, or even online by going to quickcards.com. Shopping online for this magazine will save you money on each issue, especially when you buy bulk issues, I buy 3 months and cost me £9 but it would cost you from newsagents £4.99 each issue. Buying online has it advantages as you will never miss an issue and all are bought so you don't need to find the money for the magazine when it comes out, and will be delivered to you free.
Like I mentioned before I do enjoy flicking through this magazine, I like to learn new things and techniques. This magazine as helped in many ways, I am still a amateur at card making but the main thing is I enjoy making cards. You don't have to be crafty to start making your own cards; anyone at any age can start. I know some people have said to me that it is expensive for this magazine but it isn't to me as it provides a lot off useful tips, products, and inspiration, plus if you buy bulk on the internet then your saving on each issue. I know some people might not like all the advertising in the magazine, but it is useful to the card maker.
