There are a huge variety of cross-stitch magazines on the market these days so you can undoubtably find one that suits your exact requirements. For me that magazine is Quick & Easy Cross-stitch. The thing is, I'm not that obsessed with stitching. I do it when I have a few minutes to spare or when I've got a long train journey and get fed up with reading (a rare occurance that). If I start a long and involved project it will take me months and months and months to finish it. I've got a couple on the go that have been hanging around for a year or more and the enthusiasm has completely run out. My normal reason for buying the mag is ... Read the complete review

I am a mad, mad, crazy cross-sticher! Especially since becoming virtually housebound through illness - if I'm not on the computer then I'm cross-stitching! There are a number of magazines available for the cross-sticher, "Quick and Easy Cross Stitch" being one of them. Various magazines cater for various levels of experience but this one is definitely aimed at the novice or occasional cross-stitcher rather than someone fanatical and experienced like me. Each issue contains coloured charts and finished designs for you to create aswell as letters, penpals and tips and hints (and lots of adverts!) Most issues also come with a free gift - ... As its title suggests Quick & Easy Cross Stitch magazine is dedicated to simple, effective and quick cross stitch designs. The magazine is monthly and often has a free gift on the front such as a cross-stitch kit or accessory, this somewhat makes up for the rather expensive price tag of £2.99. There is a subscription offer which provides a saving of £8.21 if paying by direct debit or £5.21 if paying by cheque or credit card. There are also subscription offers for readers outside the UK for delivery via airmail. Whilst the designs are quick and easy this should not distract the more experienced stitcher. The designs provide an excellent library of charts ... Read the complete review

As it's title suggests, this cross stitch magazine is full of designs that are both quick and easy to sew. The magazine always has a good selection of designs in each issue, and usually has a free gift attached to the cover for a small project (eg small card or keyring). This would be a good magazine to buy if you were wanting to try cross stitch as a beginner, or for a younger person, as all designs have easy to understand instructions. However, for the more experienced cross-stitcher, the designs might be a bit easy, and would not be challenging enough. In all, it's a good magazine! ... Read the complete review

Quick and Easy Cross-Stitch is one of the most successful cross stitch magazines on the market. I used to have a subscription, but I now feel that there are better cross stitch magazines on the market. QECS is not a bad magazine, it is full of lots of designs, it often comes with a free gift and there are plenty of competitions inside the magazine. The designs are (obviously) all supposed to be quick and easy so this is an ideal magazine for beginners or those who don't want to be stuck on one project for an eternity. QECS is a good magazine if you enjoy making cards and gifts, but I just find most of the designs are too 'cutesy' and not very sophisticated. ... Read the complete review
