Advantages: Quick & Easy!

Disadvantages: Too simple for some

I am a mad, mad, crazy cross-sticher! Especially since becoming virtually housebound through illness - if I'm not on the computer then I'm cross-stitching!

There are a number of magazines available for the cross-sticher, "Quick and Easy Cross Stitch" being one of them. Various magazines cater for various levels of experience but this one is definitely aimed at the novice or occasional cross-stitcher rather than someone fanatical and experienced like me.

Each issue contains coloured charts and finished designs for you to create aswell as letters, penpals and tips and hints (and lots of adverts!) Most issues also come with a free gift - usually a small cross-stich kit which anyone at any level could manage.

Personally I find this particular magazine too simplistic as I am now capable of larger, more complicated designs but if you are looking for greetings cards deisgns or small motifs then it is probably ideal. For anyone else I would recommend trying one of the many other magazines available.

I like cross stitch too. My Mum introduced it to me when I was about 19years. I stopped a couple of years ago halfway through a big dragon and a castle. I had Just had my first child who is now four. Since then I haven't seemed to have the time.

Not my scene man, but a good op - NB You get more success on Dooyoo if you go for encyclopaedia length ops

I love this magazine for the little patterns for using on cards. So much that I've even featured in one of their early editions! Fond memories...
