Advantages: Written in 'Plain English'. Easy to read & understand. Feature rich.
Disadvantages: none really
Here’s a PC magazine from the respected Future Publishing stable that’s suited to virtually all users of PCs regardless of their level of expertise. What’s so good about this mag? Well, for a start off it’s another ‘Plain English’ mag, so there’s a bonus for everyone because we all hate the technical waffle that goes with computers! Pricewise Quick & Easy Windows comes in at about the normal price of £4.99 & you get some good programs on the cover CDs most of the time. What’s in the mag & why should I buy it? Well, those are good questions that you should always consider before parting with your money. Contentwise Q & EW has the usual run of the mill stuff…letters pages, help pages, tutorials, tips & tricks sections, reviews of hardware & software, competitions & the cover cd. Q & EW are more geared towards helping you fix, maintain & upgrade your PC than the usual PC related magazine is. There’s regular tutorials of how to upgrade PC components, fix problems, hardware & software related & then the tutorials of how to get your PC to run faster & more stable. All this & a lot more besides & all in easy to understand good old Plain English! Any technical waffle is fully explained in the Jargon Buster, which appears wherever there’s tech waffle. I have bought this magazine since issue one & will probably continue to do so for the near future. Yes, I do buy a lot of PC & Internet related mags each month, but then again I really enjoy the content in the mags & I never throw any mags away! I have had to build a special cupboard to house all my mags as I had about 1500 or so at the last count. As for Quick & Easy Windows, it’s basically a good magazine that caters for all levels of expertise & is well worth the cover price of £4.99. You should always have a browse through the mag before buying as it saves a lot of money
in the long run if you do. There’s no point buying something & then realise that it’s of no use to you!
