Funding issues (Radio Times)

Disadvantages: but how is it funded?

I have no complaints with Radio Times. The only time I read it is when I go back home to visit the family!

But I am concerned about its funding. As the BBC is funded by license payers is the Radio Times subsidised?

Scenario 1: If the Radio Times (RT hereafter)is subsidised by the license fee, then I feel my money is being wasted as I don't buy it! If it is it should be free or much cheaper than non-subsidised TV listings!

Scenario 2: If the RT is a business entity in and of its self then it should not get advertising on the BBC.

You see my problem, if its a seperate entity then it should get advertising even if it pays for it since other parties can not advertise on the BBC. If its part of the BBC then it shouldn't get any funding via the lisence fee! what a pcikle when you think about it! Or is it just me?
