Advantages: The quality/ the radio listings
Disadvantages: none
I am a regular Radio Times reader, and feel it is worth paying for a quality magazine for my TV schedules. The Radio Times was always at home in my childhood, and it feels kind of natural to buy it, However it is not bought for nostalgia alone. There is always a good film review of all the weeks films, and also reviews of new films and videos. Ther are also lots of TV related articles that can be dipped into and are not witten in a trashy sensationalist kind of way. With the radio times you also get the complete listings for all the BBC national Radio stations, this feature is great if you like classical music or enjoy listening to Radio 4. The magazine is not bogged down with adverts, although a few times a year they have a lot of trvel ads in an internal broucher. I am aware that there are lots of free TV listing guides in all the weekend supplements, however I still prefer to buy this mag. I am also aware that listings are available on the internet, but I still think a magazine is superior to this at the moment.
