Premium Review Radio Times (125 words)

I always buy the Radio Times, even though it is more expensive than other TV magazines. The TV listings are comprehensive and informative with detailed cast listings. It also has full radio listings for those of us who enjoy the concerts, plays and comedy which is broadcast on BBC radio. The editorial and articles are interesting and a lot more ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Original and the best (145 words)
by - written on 17/07/00 (Very useful, 9 readings)

I think that the radio times is the best choice for the wekly TV listings magazine... and at only 79p still easily affordable. The blend of gloss and content give it the edge on newspaper pull-outs... and the TV times is far too comercialised. The covers are always innovative and give you some insight into the best programmes on that week... there ...  Read the complete review

I always buy the Radio Times, I suppose I must have been buying it since the only choices were the Radio and TV Times, it isn't that long since the variey of cheaper tv listing magazines have come onto the market. I buy other tv magazines when the Radio Times sells out, but I do always come back to it. I enjoy ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Can't resist it! (195 words)
by - written on 12/07/00 (Useful, 15 readings)

I've tried not to buy it but I get this compulsive urge each week. I have to say that it's the layout that really draws me to it. Maybe I'm old and staid and therefore hate change but it seems to me that it's the clearest (simplest!) to find the programmes in. I do get weekend papers that supposedly have the same info in but it ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Radio Times: WHY PAY MORE - Expensive for what you get (111 words)
by - written on 09/07/00 (Useful, 12 readings)
Rating:

I remember when the only TV magazines available were TV Times, and Radio Times (You had to buy both, as TV Times listed ITV, CH4, and Radio Times, listed the BBC Channels). At that time they were about £1 each, per week. With the large number of other TV Publications that are now available, including TV Quick, TV Choice, Whats on TV, and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Right on Radio Times (207 words)
by - written on 01/07/00 (Very useful, 12 readings)
Rating:

I am a regular Radio Times reader, and feel it is worth paying for a quality magazine for my TV schedules. The Radio Times was always at home in my childhood, and it feels kind of natural to buy it, However it is not bought for nostalgia alone. There is always a good film review of all the weeks films, and also reviews of new films and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Radio Times: An Excellent Mag! (165 words)
by - written on 26/06/00 (Useful, 8 readings)
Rating:

I buy Radio Times every week and it is a great source of amusement for the whole household. We particularly like the letters page with all the letters from the ranting old codgers raving on about something or nothing. Most of all though we like 'Soap and Flannel' which is a very sarcastic look at all the soaps, this is hugely and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why bother? (106 words)
by - written on 25/06/00 (Useful, 32 readings)
Rating:

My family used to get the Radio Time every week, but now we only get it at xmas time. Why? Well now every weekend newspaper comes with a free television guide that contains all the information. So radio times started to change into an OK magazine style with boring reviews and interviews. The glossy cover looks good yet the info inside ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Magazine or Newspaper (158 words)

Today every single TV listing comes out in all the national newspapers and as news travels so fast these days most people get a newspaper every day. So what is the point in spending £1 extra every week for only a couple of pages of what you want to read. Most of the radio times is simply adverts and snippets of what's to come in this weeks ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Radio Times: Average mag (105 words)
by - written on 17/06/00 (Useful, 7 readings)
Rating:

The radio times is quite a average paper and needs to improve to keep its readers. It helps being the official tv timetable guide for the BBC so gets a few mentions on BBC1 and 2 but now they are several other tv guides about which are cheaper and which are presented in a clearer, more concise way. This weeks Radio Times has a Simpsons ...  Read the complete review

What is the point of mags like these nowadays? Listings mags now come free with all major newspapers, or alternatively there's the excellent www.digiguide.com off-line listings program, which has every channel you could ever want, has programs 2 weeks ahead and is searchable. So the only point of these mags is the articles. Radio Times tends ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Radio Times: OK TV (107 words)

The oldest and the best? Well, it's competition has expanded exponentially in the years since deregulation of the TV listings market, yet RT remains the biggest seller...it's production qualities are superior to many of it's rivals, but it remains wedded to BBC content largely and there's only ever been one ITV cover star I'm ...  Read the complete review
