Advantages: A very good puzzle section.

Disadvantages: Stories may not be as good as other magazines.

Normally I buy a magazine only once or twice a month, this is usually because I read books the rest of the time. A magazine is perfect for me to read when i'm on my lunch hour though and when I was at the newsagents I came across Real People. I decided to give it a go as it was a fair price at 67p and the stories on the front had more appeal than some of the other magazines on the shelf at that time.

The magazine itself is not that bad a quality especially for the price and the front cover is glossier than a few of the cheaper magazines available.

A lot of the stories in the magazine are quite silly but this probably helped me to choose this magazine. It does have quite a few real life stories some more interesting than others. The one thing I was impressed with was that it has a decent puzzle section approximately 15 pages worth. It has the main puzzles like crosswords, sudoku and spot the difference.

There is also a cookery section, which gives a box with clear information on calories and fat etc on all the recipes given. These boxes jump out from the page so if you are on a diet you can immediately decide if it's for you or not.

A helpful tips section is at the back and they offer £25 if you offer a tip with a picture.

The ask the doctor page is quite informative especially if you have children as there is a section on childrens health. There is also the obligatory agony aunt page which again gives help and advice to those who write in.

Overall the magazine is very similar to the other magazines available in your local newsagents but the price is quite competitive.

The extended puzzle section is a plus for me but some of the stories are slightly less interesting than ones you would find in Chat magazine for example.

Summary: I would recommend this magazine if you like to do puzzles and reading the stories passes the time.
