"Streetch" Why do they have these mags placed up so high, always risk pulling the whole lot down on me. A £1? For a magazine of this type? I don't supposed it does come with any freebies like the others. "A bag, madam" Certainly not, do you think I'm ashamed to be seen with it in public? We should wave our mags free and proud! Hmmm, now to sneak into the house past my partner. Honestly I'm not worried about it, but the other half usually thinks they're puerile and often degrading, not to mention exploitative. Personally I think they're fantastic, particularly the little red number on the front! Where to ... Read the complete review

Each week at the gym, I like to have a project. Not the “jog an extra mile” or “drag the body through 10 more stomach crunches”, kind mind you. Nope, it’s a reading project. I don’t have much time to read anymore, so whenever I do get the opportunity, I can usually be found with my nose in, well, something. At the end of last week, with 4 Blondes finished a few days earlier, I found myself pedalling away reading a magazine for a change. And that magazine, ladies and gentlemen, was Real. ** Audience ** As part of English at school, and of linguistics now, we have to analyse texts to see if they are appropriate for ... I am totally fed up with womens magazines such as Company and Cosmopolitan. I don’t find the articles that interesting, and half of the magazine is adverts. I usually just opt to read my housemates copy of FHM because it is far more entertaining! So as I entered Tesco and began my usual browse of the magazine rack I was hoping for something new. I was immediately blinded by the shocking pink advert on the cover of Real magazine. It might have well as said ‘buy me’. It was on half price special offer at 75p, and promised to be the magazine for the ‘modern women’. With ‘Heartland reports on crucial issues affecting ... Read the complete review

Real is a magazine for women. It came out last year, so is quite a new magazine. It comes out fortnightly and costs £1.50, which isn't a bad price to pay. Lately they have been selling it for £1 which is a bargain. The front page of the magazine is glossy and usually has different women on the front each fortnight. The front page lets you know some of the articles that are inside the magazine. I have issue 4 which is from the 26th of February to the 11th of March. I will now give you an idea what you will find in the magazine. There are 122 pages so there is plenty to read as well as all the pictures and advertisements to look at. First of ... I got this magazine after cutting out a coupon in the Daily Mail, which involved me exchanging it for a free copy of the latest issue of Real. I have considered buying this magazine a few times in the past few weeks but have always gone for something else. If I had decided to buy it, it would have set me back £1.50 for around 130 pages. I think this is quite cheap for a glossy magazine. So I got onto the train and began to read. I have seen the advert for this magazine and I hate it. If anything it would put me off buying it as it makes the women look really bad. The front cover didn’t look too bad and contained a great deal of information. ... Read the complete review
