Advantages: thought provoking and well written

Disadvantages: some of the fashion is out of price range

i am ashamed to admit that after my mother asked for a subscription to this magazine, i wrote it off as a "Lady" magazine, that is, one for the older generation. I was bored one day and picked it up for a read and enjoyed it so much i now buy it every month.

The magazine is split into the standard sections - fashion, makeup, lifestyle, true stories, celebrity interview, recipes, home decoration and reviews. It looks like your average glossy magazine but it really is different.

This is an intelligent read and most months gives me at least a few hours of good reading. The celebrity interviews tend to be thoughtful and genuinely bring about interesting insights or a fresh view into someone that we all "know" about.

the fashion section, whilst a lot of my time is out of my price range, often gives me ideas about outfits, and wearable fashion. The makeup section is also user friendly and will give useable makeup tips that won't scare the horses.

i love the columnists - Fiona Gibson in particular is amusing and entertaining. I particularly loved a recent column about trying on magic pants. very true, well written and funny!

the recipe section is also inspiring and easy to follow. the section is always themed and therefore gives an easy to look up range of similar style food to cook.

in conclusion, this is a varied and useful magazine. the columnists are easy to read and entertaining and this is a genuinely interesting and thought provoking magazine that i am glad to repeat buy.

Summary: i always feel well "red" with this magazine
