Advantages: Inspirational, great recipes
Disadvantages: none
After having my daughter I needed to lose about a stone in weight. I have never had to diet before, and didn't fancy going to a slimming club to lose the extra pounds. I decided to buy a few slimming magazines to give me some ideas on healthy meals and exercises. The best magazine I found was Rosemary Conleys Health and Fitness magazine. It is £1.95 and packed full of great recipes which don't seem like normal "diet" meals. She tends to use certain lower fat alternatives in recipes, such as Normandy fromage frais instead of cream. I decided to try a few of the recipes and they taste just as good as the real thing. This month the recipes are designed for one person, which I think is much better, as my husband won't eat "rabbit food" as he calls it lol. I really enjoy reading the success stories of other readers. The photos of before and after are amazing and are enough to inspire anyone to lose weight. There are exercise tips for doing at home, and if you want to join the Rosemary Conley club, there is a list of phone numbers of all the clubs. Combined with regular exercise and eating better, I have managed to lose all my pregnancy weight. I still buy the magazine to keep myself on track.

Mandypotts - 26/09/00 The recipes do take longer then normal though, which is a down side, but they always taste nice and she has some really good ideas, like putting oxo cubes in pasta water, encouraging you to eat more pasta and less sauce. |
