Advantages: Comprehensive race listing, Product reviews

Disadvantages: Some parts available online, Not for novices

This is a specialised magazine for a very specific target audience - but then the clue is probably in the title. For running enthusiasts this is probably the best magazine available.

The main benefit is to be found in the comprehensive national race listing. However this is also available free on the internet at the magazine's site and if this all you're after it would difficult to justify almost £3 on the magazine.

Articles and features involve a selection of personal stories from runners, product comparisons (from footwear to energy bars), and health and training advice. These can be informative but unfortunately variable in quality with a tendency toward being quite brief. One line trainer reviews don't serve much purpose.

Having said this the magazine is much better than its competitors on the newsagent shelf, despite also being slightly more pricey.
