Advantages: A great read
Disadvantages: They go out of stock quickly
We get this magazine sent to us through the post although you can pick it up in store which I sometimes do as we are waiting at the check out. Noah tends to sit a bit quieter if he's got one of these in his hands!
I have to say that considering this is a free magazine, I find it to be a thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to a new one coming out each season.
There is a great two page spread each season that tells you which fruits or vegetables are in season and what you can do with them. I found this particularly helpful this season as I was eager to do some blackberry picking with the boys. I was able to see when they would be blooming and what I could do with them other than an apple and blackberry crumble.
There is a section at the back with various vouchers but I never find these very useful because I tend to buy the cheapest store products whereas these are the products like Pampers nappies etc. I'm sure they are of use to some people though.
The magazine does include a lot of adverts, fashion articles and general promoting of sainsburys products but Insuppose you have to expect this. In my opinion this isn't a bad thing because there have been plenty of times where I have come across a product in the magazine, given it a try and liked it. For example Sainsbury's make their own milk which has an orange top. It contains 1% fat so it's in between skimmed and semi skimmed but instead of costing over £1.50 for 4 pints, it only costs £1! I saw this advertised in the magazine and have been saving tones of money since.
The magazine includes some amazing recipes that look absolutely delicious and there have been a few occasions that I have given them a try. The thing I love most about the recipes is that I don't tend to look at them and think that it's impossible to cook. The ingrediants are every ay things that you would have heard of and there usually isn't a massive long list which makes you think that it will end up costing an arm and a leg.
There are some informative articles on various things. For instance this issue gave me some very helpful advice on dying my hair. It went into detail about what the difference between semi permanent and permanent is and I found the whole thing very informative.
The only downside is the fact that they go out of stock quickly in our store so I end up picking up a couple in one go so I can have one and there is one each for the boys.
Over all this is a great magazine that is definitely worth a read. Pick one up next time you are visiting and I'm sure you'll be impressed too.
Summary: A great mag
