Doctor Who Magazine:
... ve dipped in and out of Doctor Who Magazine through the years, initially when it was Doctor Who Weekly in the Tom Baker years, back into the Peter Davison and Colin Baker monthly issues. I have to admit to losing my way during the McCoy and McGann wilderness years - though I did read a couple of issues and was amazed at how a series that was quite literally not being made was still able to fill each edition so well... Torchwood Magazine ... I admit it... I m a Torchwood fan. And I m not a nerdy sixteen year old boy either, but a twenty seven year old professional. There, I said it. Torchwood magazine is released every two months and it s not cheap- £4.99 an issue. It s not the most professional magazine either, sometimes even I notice the spelling mistakes and layout errors. Some of the articles are little more than filler, rehashing old episodes and repeating them again and again. So why do I buy every single issue? Because it is written and produced with love. The people who write for the magazine are genuine fans and it comes across in their writing. Plus there are often great spoilers for unscreen... Torchwood Magazine ... was only a matter of time before the popular Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood was given its own official magazine. It s been going for around a year now, and its a bit of a mixed basket. One one hand, it has some extremely interesting articles and what-not, and is a useful companion to the series, but, especially of late, the quality of the magazine hasn t been great. It has the same number of pages as Doctor Who Magazine, but sadly not the same content. Most of the pages are devoted to pictures and pull-out quotes. Then they fill the rest of the space up with a scrappily written article, which, more often than not, is full of spelling and punctuation errors. It doe... Doctor Who Magazine ... joined Doctor Who Magazine with the arrival of the 2006 Christmas special. At that time I was clueless to the world of the Doctor, having not been around at the time of the Classic series. I would love to say since then I ve never looked back, but I sadly admit, I cancelled my subscription during the 3rd series (what can I say? I was a Rose fan...), but DWM will always rein supreme, and it finally enticed me back at the start of last year. It s everything a Doctor Who fan could want (and slightly more). It has casting news, product reviews, exclusive interviews and the all important sneak preview for those who want to spoil the next episode for themselves, not that...
