Advantages: Lots of good advice
Disadvantages: It doesnt say I can eat as much chocolate cake as I like
Whoopee!! What a feeling of deja vu! I went to get some more of my summery clothes out and lo and behold, had that same feeling as last year! Yep, they're a little too tight, well a lot tight to be honest. And you know I did do an op on losing weight last year and guess what? I did do so, quite a bit actually, but over the past few months some has crept back on, see, I lay my soul open for you lot, give you all a peek! But I'm not the only one you know, obesity is on the increase in Britain and the average woman is size 16+, so perhaps we could all do with a bit of advice! Of course I could do what Alan, the other half does, which is eat only when he is hungry, never snacks between meals and dislikes fatty food. Thats probably why he's 6'2 and under 11 stone. Like its really that easy with the like of Jaffa Cakes around! So you decide that you do want to shift some of that flab, well, one of the best things that you can is look at one of the best mags for diet and nutritional advice and its this one, Slimming Magazine. Its one of the few not affliated to any type of diet, and isnt a bible of 'points' and 'sins', it deals with plain old calories and fat. Of course thats just not trendy anymore, what with blood type diets, and face reading diets. Well I've tried the sins, the points, the high protein, low carb and vice versa. Now I've decided the best thing to do is go back to basics and look at plain old calories and fat, after all the basic premise is, if you take in less calories than you use then you will lose weight. Slimming Magazine is a huge wealth and info and ideas. It does the usual fashion and beauty which, thankfully, looks at all sizes, a readers diet diary, advice columns and regular co-writers. Every month there is a different diet to follow, it could be a quick start plan, a ready meals diet or even a chocolate diet which is great to keep the will-power going, food
is defiantely the focus of this mag They usually aim for you to lose around 7 -10lbs in a month, which is quite sensible! Lots of low calorie recipes, and every month a review of all the new foods on the shelf with lots of nutritional information. No just boring stuff, we get a nice run down on chocolate bars! Another part thats an inspiration and yet guaranteed to bring out the green-eyed monster is the success stories. Why cant I lose 8st in 4 months, dye my hair blode and get mistaken for Pamela anderson, even after having 8 kids?. They do have some good advice though. Slimming also has some regular features about anything to do with eating. Earlier editions have featured slimming pills, both natural and manufacture, it could aslo be bulimia, anorexia, crash dieting, etc. And of course lots of inspirational hints and tips, where would we be without them? So we've read the mag, bought the healthy food and the trainers ready for the exercise and you're ready for the off witht he target in sight! Unless of course you're like me and do your back in. Dont feel much like exercising whilst I'm sleeping on the floor, or buying healthy food when I can barely lift the lighter to me fag or even cooking for myself when there is 5 Easter Eggs on the table!! Still.....Good Luck All!!
