Advantages: celeb goss, fashion and make up tips, readers take part

Disadvantages: some of the freebies are tacky

I used to read this magazine years ago, but found it a bit too celeb-focused. However, after a relaunch of the mag, I gave it a try and LOVED it! Ok, so they tend to have pretty lame gifts, or oh-so-tight tops that I guess wouldn't fit half of sugar readers, but they do have a Sugar VIP club, with REAL girls. Readers can showcase their talents, by drawing or even writing a story for a title set by the mag. They don't seem to care about looking perfect and encourage redaers to love themselves, flaws and all. I think they set a really good message out to teens. Plus, the fashion and gossip is always up to the minute. Captivating true life stories are also included each month, as is a separate Lad Mag, which is pretty obviously about the opposite sex.

Past cover celebs include; Paris Hilton, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson and Rachael Bilson, who all feature in an in-depth interview in the mag. There's usually around 4 or 5 Problem Pages, covering everything from love to health.

For those who are into star signs then you'll definitely like the very precise predictions. Each star sign has a monthly plan, with a prediction for each day of the month, instead of just a brief overview.

Quizzes have included; Is he worthy? How moody are you? and Is your star sign ruining your love life? They're a bit of fun but the outcome at the end does make you think.

Finally, I checked out the sugar website and found it very disappointing. I expected it to be as full and interesting as the mag, with loads of extras and games, sadly though, it wasn't.

Summary: It's definitely worth the two pound twenty you pay, don't be put off by the freebies
