I look forward to my monthly instalment of Sugar Magazine! I have a year’s subscription of it and I have no regrets. It is not the most intellectually challenging magazine, but then again it does not promise to be that. What it does promise is great fashion, beauty and lifestyle advice and that is just what it delivers to my door every month! I think the target audience is girls of about 14 years old to 18 years old but I'm sure younger and younger girls are reading it.

Advantages

1. Sugar magazine has something for everyone, it has fashion advice, and beauty tips, gripping real life stories, funny embarrassing stories and tips for coping with exams.

2. Free gifts, some are tacky and worthless but others are quite useful.

3. I won a prize draw with my subscription! I received a hairdryer and hair curlers, worth nearly all the price of the subscription! Not bad!!

4. Takes quite s lot of time to read, great boredom relief!

5. Some good posters and pictures and info on celebrities.

6. Really useful fashion and make up advice

Disadvantages

1 Many articles are sponsored by companies so they are basically just a promotion. They really push the products made by the company, if Sugar advises you to use a certain product in an article because a company is paying them, how do we know other recommendations elsewhere in the magazine are reliable?

2 The magazine is packed full of advertisements, especially those annoying ‘call this number for a mobile phone ringtone/logo, only £3 a minute!!’ adverts!

3. Articles are sometimes repetitive

I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and I love reading Sugar Magazine!
