Advantages: Good prizes, puzzles, great features, community feel through stories and photos,pay you for articles

Disadvantages: Too busy reading and doing competitions to notice any!

I have been buying Take a Break for about a year or so, it was the competitions that first attracted me to it,as every week there are loads of competions where you can win anything from £50 to £2500 or a car, or a holiday , travel vouchers, a supermarket trolley dash, and loads of other prizes, depending on what the competition is. There are word searches, crosswords, sudoku, code breakers and others, some are really easy and others tax the brain a bit more.

The great thing about this magazine is the fact that most of it is written by the readers, through real life stories, fiction, letters, photos, recipes, car boot sale tales etc. If you submit an article or photo or household tip ( or anything else), and it is accepted they pay between £25 and £500. The higher prices are for the real life stories - can be happy or sad or unusual or tales of love - anything really.

Take a Break has a good community feel about it, with all the letters and photos from readers, and the recipes are yummy!

Some of the real life stories can be really sad and upsetting, but some are also really funny.

There is a fashion article, and health and beauty tips too.

Take a Break is released every Thursday and costs 78p. Well worth the money. I enjoy sending in photos and letters and when they are accepted it's even better as a lovely cheque comes through your door! Haven't won on the competitions yet, but I will keep trying as you've got to be in it to win it!
