Take A Break
Advantages: Great, Cheap Entertainment
Disadvantages: Could Have Less Adverts
'Take A Break' is my favourite women's, weekly magazine. It is the 'World's No1 True-Life Weekly', a title it truly deserves. For just 78p you get an entertaining magazine, packed full with true stories, prize puzzles and lots of hints and tips. Unlike so many similar magazines, this one doesn't have more adverts than editorial content, making it a great buy!
The true stories focus on the lives of ordinary people who have a dramatic, sad, happy, thrilling or just plain interesting story to tell. These range from heartbreaking deaths, raunchy affairs, devastating domestic violence, weight loss success and much much more. These shocking tales make for great reading and I much prefer true-life magazines like this one to celebrity orientated junk.
The magazine contains a great selection of puzzles each week, offering the reader the chance to win huge prizes. Many of the competitions give cash to the winners but you can also try to win top holidays, supermarket sprees, brand new cars amongst other great prizes.
The magazine offers 'big cash' for people's true-life stories. Each issue includes a form to complete if you have a story to tell. This is a great way to earn yourself some cash and ensures that the magazine get their pick of many stories, to bring the very best to their readers.
I especially enjoy the puzzles in the magazine. I haven't entered any of the competitions before however I did once with a different magazine and won so I can vouch for them being genuine. I might enter some of these puzzle competitions in this issue if I remember to.
The magazine contains great health advice aswel and if you cut out these articles you can build up a great health book for your own reference. It's surprising how useful this can turn out to be!
You can send in your problems to the magazine and they will answer your questions. They pay out £25 for each letter features, which is pretty good just to voice your problems.
Overall I think this is a great women's magazine (although men hav been known to sneak a look too). I always buy a copy if I've got to make a long bus journey and it never fails to entertain. It's a light read which can relieve boredom for some time! I couldn't ask for better for my 78p!
Summary: A Great Women's Weekly!
