Advantages: inexpensive, jam packed, good read
Disadvantages: once you've bought it, you find you can't concentrate on anything else till you've read it
Take a break is a magazine every woman should incorporate into their lives. It is inexpensive, at only 78p a week, and comes with everything you could ask for. There are loads of real life stories, which sometimes tend to all seem a bit dreary, but then you do get real heart breakers some weeks.
I have recently been enjoying reading the series of weekly updates on a set of twin girls, one of which was suffering from cancer. One week you could be crying along with their parents - and probably the rest of the nation - and the next be giggling along with the girls and the ways in which they were coping. (I know they have done this before with other people as well but I can't recall the details.)
One of the best features of this magazine is the puzzles you have each week. They almost always collectively add up to about £30k, spread out over different sums or as products. They
vary in difficulties making it seem not so easy to complete them but well worth entering. Another good thing about this is that you don't have one option of entering which might have been usually to phone a premium rate line. You can enter by post or via the internet (even better because its free!) so you don't really have to shell out any more to try win!
Another thing that alot of other magazines don't offer is a series of spin offs. There are seasonal magazines, that are slightly dearer but still cheap, they have twice the amount of features and are very good to keep up with. There are the take a break puzzle books which I have bought a couple of times but never really got into. The puzzles are mostly just for fun but there are ones for prizes. Downside of the puzzle books however is that they are not quite as simple as the ones in the mag.
Summary: fabulous mag
