Advantages: All the weeks info in one magazine

Disadvantages: Some news may be a bit late, possibly biased comments at times

Throughout my A level years, reading the economist was considered extra reading. However the information provided was intelligible to the masses and was short enough to keep the reader interested and concentrated.
The economist comes out once a week and provides the weeks major business and political affairs.
What makes one choose The Economist over other similar magazines such as Forbes/Fortune/etc?
For me, the layout and style of the economist is more appealing than the other magazines. For example, The Economist have more interesting covers than the dull Fortune magazines. Thus a slight incentive for those not all to willing to read in the first place.
But at the end of the day the content is understandable short but to the point and is easily read from anyone between 17 and 60
