Advantages: Great analyses, and not just for economists!!!!

Disadvantages: Can be mildly biased at times

The Economist is a good weekly magazine for several reasons, it has the ability to make complex ideas simple, and has news stories from around the world. If you are a student, such as myself, and want to keep abreast of current affairs but don't have the time to read newspapers everyday, or keep the hours ot watch the news, the Economist is a good way of keeping up to date. It really does have stories from around the world, and is handily divided into regional sectors. It is not dry and boring either. Despite the lack of photos, the text contains some economics, but a lot of general political analysis of events.

I learnt a lot from this magazine; basic economics, about global politics, and about domestic politics. It is far more in-depth than many other weekly publications such as Time and Newsweek, and it shows when you have to discuss issues.

My only critiscism would be that on occassion it can be slightly biased, which is a shame because a more balanced view would in some ways be better.
