I suppose if you are living in the comfort of Hampstead, the idea of having the tiny island we live on flooded with foreigners sounds good. Therefore I'm not surprised at the Guardian championing the cause of illegal immigrants. They are not, by definition, asylum seekers, as according to international law, an asylum seeker is obliged - and should be happy to - take residence in the first 'safe' country he enters. Guardian readers support illegal immigration, because it makes them feel good while enjoying their dinner parties in Hampstead and Golder's Green.
