Advantages: Well written, Well researched, Good value for Money
Disadvantages: Sport not as good as the Sun
The Daily Mail is by far the most popular and widely read quality daily newspaper. It is well written and presented. It follows the standard format , major news at the front & sport at the back. Whilst the Sport isn't as good as in the Sun , it is difficult to be pursuaded to buy that Newspaper in front of the Mail when for everything else The Mail is head and shoulders in front. Each day carries a different central focus ; Mondays Self Magazine covering self improvement , self awareness , self discovery & self obsession. Very femail orientated. This week covered what type of Bikini Women should wear to lose inches and gain curves without anyone else knowing. People with Big Hips , Small Hips , Big Bust , Small Bust , Big Bum & Thighs , Big Bust & Shoulders , Athletic Build , Big Stomach and No Waist Tuesdays Good Health - described a Pages to Help you get the most out of your Life. This week covered big write ups on a £1,600 Bra which claims to make Women's boob grow , Hay Fever , ME , a diet to deal with Autism and a good Cheese Guide. Wednesday Money Mail - my favourite. Even though I work for a major High Street Bank , I do like the stand they take to protect some customers. The errors made by the Bank's in some instances are frightening. This week the did a two page spread on "How to Make you Holiday Money Travel Further" , comparing different rates available from using debit and credit cards to obtain cash from Cash Machines , using in Shops and over the Bank counters. They are excellent at giving quick tips to maximise your Savings and reduce your Mortgage. An excellent Section for anyone who needs help looking after their finances. Thursday www.femail.co.uk. Again , aimed primarily at their femail readers. Each week , Penny Smith of GMTV fame does a write up on some Make Up or similar goods (Sorry of little interest to me). One v
ery interesting point to note about www.femail.co.uk is that you are offered a £5 amazon.co.uk voucher to sign up on the femail.co.uk web-site. I did this for my wife about three weeks ago and when nothing happened assumed that it was another false promise. However , sitting in my Wife's inbox yesterday morning was the £5 voucher. Only requirement is that it must be used within about 3 weeks and against an item costing £7.50 or more. This is good since you are often told it is £5 off as long as you spend £25 , not the case here. So give this one ago , remember the web address ; www.femail.co.uk. Friday It's Friday - Summary and comments on Film's being released at the Cinema , Video's/DVD's for Rent and to Buy , Theatre , Music and Books. I cannot profess to liking each of the specials , I don't since some are more focussed towards Women than Men but they have a good cross section of features , well researched and written. I deliberately haven't commented on Saturdays and Sundays paper since these are laws unto themselves. Even if you don't get the paper everyday , give it a try on the day of the Special Section you think may interest you most.
