Advantages: Occasionally has one good story.

Disadvantages: Layout and dull paper (as in the material it’s printed on) and not as eye-friendly as The Sun.

It’s dull. perhaps as used to the titillation as I am from reading The Sun far too much, adjusting to The Mirror isn’t that hard but my God, the sheer effort needed to put up with it is staggering.

The main reasons I get a tabloid paper is down to the cost, the gossip and the sports stories. Both The Sun and The Mirror try to outblast each other with their sheer jingoism, views and exclusives but I’d rather not focus on that as that’s what everybody does.

The little bits of the paper such as Harry Harris’ inane ramblings are monotonous and hard to agree with, just as much as Brian Woolnough’s although Woolnough as far as I know hasn’t wanted the appointment of one manager and then dismissed them when their failings have been slightly apparent.

And perhaps I’m a moron for liking Garry Bushell’s bite-size reviews on Wednesdays rather than Charlie Catchpole’s slight opinions on Tuesdays (Bushell has left his column in the care of Harry Hill, Les Dennis and Amanda Holden, Caroline Aherne, Paul Ross and they’re all a bunch of crock compared to Garry....).

Tom Johnston’s style of cartooning is vaguely reminscient of Maddocks’ but his satiricial age is waning (mind you, did it ever exist before?).

And as for Scorer vs Striker....well Christ, they’re both as tedious as each other.

Yes folks, I’m a Sun reader but don’t chastise me for it.
