Advantages: Best of the tabloids

Disadvantages: Probably suited to mainly left wing readers

I've been buying The Mirror for a long time now and find it the best of the so called tabloid papers. They have always stuck to their guns on subjects and don't mind being out of step with the other tabloids.

Although you could never describe the content as being particularly highbrow, the Mirror does provide a decent and not too taxing read. If I'm going on a long train journey I make sure to get a copy because the crossword is just difficult enough to make it a struggle to finish, without it becoming boring.

There is still a financial page during the week but this is now less prominent since the well publiscised problems with the City Slickers column which used to be a regular feature. On Tuesdays there is a free glossy magazine with the paper, aimed mainly at the female readers.

I always get a copy of The Mirror on Saturday because not only is the sports coverage excellent, there is also a TV guide which I use during the rest of the week and saves me buying a proper TV magazine. If you haven't tried it yet get this paper and see what you think.

Yeah I totally agree, my family's been bying the Mirror for over 40 years now, and I'm certainly going to carry on the tradition. And I also like the TV guide on a Saturday, very neat layout and less advertising than in the TV Times for example. Good review of a good paper!
