First of all let me get one thing straight - I am a Socialist. However to present the Morning Star as some sort of daily paper of the left is deeply misguided. First of all, the Morning Star's party, the Communist Party of Britain (CPB) is based on a program part written by Stalin in the 1950's - British Road to Socialism. This program was based on the principal that the Soviet Union would overtake the western capitalist countries in terms of production and that the Labour Party would deliver Socialism through parliament. Few may of heard of it, and even fewer buy it nowadays, outside of London council coffeeshops, but there is another national daily news paper among the big nine. The Morning star, a communist socialist daily published since 1930 exists largely through reader contributions, and the odd car boot sale, and its site is as low tech as you expect (web site that is).
