Advantages: Different perspective, well written

Disadvantages: Only really available online for most people

The New York Times is a great international broad sheet newspaper. It can be seen as roughly the New York equivalent of our Telegraph newspaper. Their international news is very good, with coverage of events in Europe and the far east. For example at the time of writing this review there is a front page article on the Russian submarine that has sunk as well as the leading headline regarding the upcoming American election.

It is also interesting to look at this paper as it gives an American perspective on the events which are also reported by the UK press. The style of reporting is different, appearing more factual and less opinionated than we are used to.
