Advantages: Thoughtful, intelligent
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to read !
In my opinion the Observer is the best Sunday paper available in this country. Having been a regular reader for more than two years now I am confident in stating that standards continue to improve and the paper is now a thoughtful, intelligent and interesting work. As you would expect from a broadsheet the coverage of news and politics is both in - depth and high profile. The style reporting and commentary is intelligent and worthy of comment. Time is taken to explore and explain complex issues in an intelligent manner that does not hector the reader nor attempt to bamboozle them. A number of insightful and energetic opinion writers ensures that the main section of the paper is an interesting and worthwhile read each week. The Observer sports section is tremendous delivering a mixture of reports, news and statistics that is perfectly pitched. Again the use of thoughtful leader writers in the sport section gives it a weighty edge. The Life magazine has noticably improved in the last year, engaging weekly items alongside interesting feature pieces make for an interesting magazine. In addition to these you will find the traditional business and finance pages as well as travel, arts review and tv guid sections. A well written paper that it is a pleasure to read each week with thoughtful, intelligent opinions as well as high class standards of layout and photography.
