This magazine, in my opinion (which I guess is why I am here writing this), is by far the best Xbox Magazine out there. But I guess it has to be as it is the official xbox magazine, and so it has a lot to live up to. The front cover of every issure, is always a teaser. It's very simple, and so I guess, very effective. It usually just shows a character from a new game out. Thats basically it.... sad but true. Oh, and obviously it has to have a huge Xbox logo on it. Each addition comes with a demo disc. I'm not always sure if this is what I buy it for, but coming to think about it now, the answer would be no. It's good that you get a little ...

Official magazines have always been a strange beast. The official label creates both problems and advantages for the magazine. For example, official magazines tend to get the highest readerships, free demo discs and reviews and previews before anyone else. On the other hand, the magazine is at risk of becoming a propaganda machine for the console it supports. There have been some good and some poor official magazines over the years; which category does Official X-Box Magazine fall in? Fortunately, it falls into the former. The magazine is published by Future Publishing, publishers of the Official PlayStation, Official PlayStation 2 and (unofficial) N64 (now NGC) ...

The Evening Post often lends its weight to local causes, has a carefully targeted distribution policy that sees each reader getting the news most relevant to them, whilst still covering the news at a national level, and runs regular supplements.
The paper can be a little over-dramatic, and is apt to go beyond providing the news by suggesting what the reader should think of it too. It also had the carelessness to let Jeremy Smith go wandering off to pastures new – a tragedy!
