Premium Review The Pagan Federation: Pagan Dawn (2075 words)
by zebra - written on 03/08/02 (Very useful, 148 readings)
Rating:

Pagan Dawn is the official magazine of the Pagan Federation, the body who have set themselves up as spokespeople for the 'pagan community'. From this one might assume that it represents all pagans and neo-pagans around but this is by no means the case and the problem is largely one of definition and interpretation. The religious tolerance site at http://www.religioustolerance.org/paganism.htm discusses the term pagan and concludes that although it may have several references that most Internet references to Paganism refer to Wiccans and other Neopagans. It also suggests that the term is so misleading that it should not be used without further ...

Crowned Review Essential, unconventional reading. (831 words)

"Pagan Dawn" is the official publication of the Pagan Federation. It's a quarterly journal, the quality is excellent and the content is both varied and valuable. Pagan Dawn comes out four times a year - Imbolc (winter, early January) Beltane - some time near the first of May, Lugnasad (August, ish) and Samhain (late october) in practise, not quite regular with the Quarters and approximating the festive dates, but I quibble. Bristol Evening Post
The Evening Post often lends its weight to local causes, has a carefully targeted distribution policy that sees each reader getting the news most relevant to them, whilst still covering the news at a national level, and runs regular supplements. The paper can be a little over-dramatic, and is apt to go beyond providing the news by suggesting what the reader should think of it too. It also had the carelessness to let Jeremy Smith go wandering off to pastures new – a tragedy!
