... that if you want to get this very informative publication and not run the gauntlet of 'already there' homosexuals, you can now do so in newsagents around the country(perhaps). 'The Pink Paper' has always been an informative and well put together publication, it has in the past enjoyed a limited, yet large audience. I recomend that you buy a copy from W.H.Smiths and find out what all of the fuss is about. ...more

Premium Review The Pink Paper: Walls! (181 words)
by - written on 23/12/00 (Useful, 109 readings)
Rating:

If you are a Gay teenager, and your life does NOT revolve(yet) around 'the scene', being able to perchase the 'Pink paper' from W.H.Smiths could be an advantage. If you are someone in need of Gay information, and you do not feel confident enough to anounce this fact to everyone in the newsagents, buying the 'Pink Paper' could be a problem. In short offering this paper FREE at Gay venues does not open up readership to those in the closet, obtaining the publication at all, is anouncing to someone that you are interested in things other than Heterasexual. The difference is that if you want to get this very informative publication and not run ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review No More a Freebie (194 words)
by - written on 27/11/00 (Very useful, 140 readings)
Rating:

The once free gay newspaper is no more. Well, it still exists, but now you have to pay for it! You will no longer only find your Pink in your local gay pub or club or youth group but you can now buy it form your local newsagent, either Smiths or just the local shop. That bad news is that we actually have to pay for it now. It's reduced in size, it actually looks like a copy of the Big Issue, and the price is so expensive at £1.80 or something like ...  Read the complete review

by - written on 04/09/00 (Very useful, 175 readings)
Rating:

If you have never seen this publication, you might think that a qualification of a 'gay publication' is that it must show either naked bodies, list endless 0898 numbers, or be a fashion magazine with mainly men posing. This is where this publication is different, and at last. It has gay related news stories, a gay editorial, a gay letter page, a gay cartoonist, and gay related ads (but mainly not of the porn type) Its the kind of paper you could read on a train and be proud to be gay and not feel like a pervert. Its a great read, although if you live in an area without a gay venue, it could be difficult getting hold of a copy as it is a ...  Read the complete review
