Advantages: great soccer coverage

Disadvantages: other sports are not covered in as great a depth

Sport First is the best paper that a Sports enthusiast can buy. Actually, it's the ONLY one.
We are meant to be a nation of sports fans, but we cannot support a daily sports paper or weekly sports magazine. In the US they have the excellent Sports Illustrated and the Sporting Times. France have l'Equipe (with a brilliant sports magazine included each weekend) and Italy have the 'Gazetta della Sport'. We have the racing papers and Sports First each weekend!
This newspaper is ok, but limited. Its general sports coverage is nowhere near as good as it's coverage of Soccer. Each football league and Premiership match has it's own report and stats. But other sports can be sidelined unless it is a major international event like a Grand Prix, Open Golf, Wimbledon etc.
Why this country can't support a decent daily sports paper is probably summed up by Sport First. We are predominantly dictated by soccer. Football, Football, Football and the rest of sport is on the sidelines. For as long as this situation goes on, then Sport First will be the best than we can expect.
