Advantages: Certainly has the most quirkiest angles or news events.

Disadvantages: You might abhor the presence of occasional ‘soft’ pornography (or more likely, the level of journalism).

Infamous throughout the Western world with it’s ‘revolutionary’ Page 3 girls, The Sun has always been considered low-brow with it’s instincts held firmly in the gutter.

As a Brit and holding a fond (if not, entirely twisted) appreciation for The Sun, I recognise that it is sensationalist, salacious and most of the time, darn right stupid.

When most of the papers concentrate on serious news stories, it’ll occasionally go so far OFF left-field, that you’ll wonder if it’s humanely possible (it’ll take a populist slant only when it appeals to a majority of the readers such as the recent petrol crisis or a death of a celebrity).

It is still the biggest selling paper in the UK (over 4 million copies sold a day) and you may be wondering why (and on occasions, so do I!).

The emphasis is clearly on scandal and titillation. Whether it be the latest misguided PR stunts of certain celebrities or the disgraceful actions of other media personalities, The Sun will always be there covering showbiz, sport and politics in it’s own inimitable style.

The Sun will never get away from it’s instantly irritable columnists who you love to hate....Jane Moore (women), Garry Bushell (TV), Jeremy Clarkson (cars), Ally Ross (tittle-tattle), Dominic Mohan (showbiz).
But few if any, can entertain as well as The Sun.
