OK, I have some bias against the Sun, I shall admit. I have lived in Liverpool for several years, where very few people buy the Sun. Indeed, some newsagents won't even stock it. This is because of the totally unproved story the Sun ran after the Hillsborough disaster, where 96 Liverpool FC fans were crushed to death at an FA Cup semi-final. The story blamed fans for the disaster and said they had urinated on the dead, stolen from the dead and so on. They called it the 'Truth'. The official inquiry into the disaster laid the blame with South Yorks Police and could not find any evidence to back up the Sun's claims. Liverpool hasn't forgotten.

For this reason alone, I believe the people of the UK should boycott this newspaper. But don't fear, there are more! It has a terrible record on reporting mental health - check out a MIND survey on this. It's trashy. It's owned by Murdoch, with his right-wing agenda in mind.

It doesn't actually contain any news. It has a reading age of seven. Seven. Does this not say it all?
