Advantages: Topless women? Entertaining stories
Disadvantages: Ruins people's lives, choose the next government, what else?
The Sun is a UK newspaper that most people either buy regularly, or avoid completely. It has been no stranger to controversy down the years, and sections of the country (Liverpool as an example) have been even vowed not to sell it. This, together with it's sensationalist approach and tacky reputation has led to an extremely polarised opinion - some say it is just good fun and light reading - others that it's glorified propoganda, and responsible for the general dumbing down of the UK population.
Whoever you are, it's likely you'll have an opinion. And here's mine:
I do admit, I buy the Sun on ocassion and read the website from time to time, too. I do, however, recognize it for what it is - a paper of sleaze, sport, and topless women. If you're into that, then fair enough.
But if you want something with a little more depth, and wish to avoid News International, then you may wish to try something else.
It's very unlikely you're going to get a worse newspaper elsewhere, apart from perhaps the Daily Mail.
Even so, if you are interested in sport, topless women and a little celebrity gossip (albeit usually twisted), then the Sun may very well be for you.
Summary: Utter trash
