For 20p its worth it for the sport

Advantages: Good sport content
Disadvantages: Lots of inanities and pointlessness
The Sun newspaper is a lot of things to a lot of people, to people of Merseyside it is something to be avoided all of the time, to people in London it is the closest national newspaper to a free one at 20p.
With its big red sign and īCurrant Bunīnickname (amongst others), the paper is one of the most popular in the UK, it is available in all good newsagents and supermarkets (and some pretty bad ones too!!), it costs 20p in London and I presume 30p everywhere else.
The paper is an easy read and is synonomous the world over as a gossipy tabloid paper that is quick with sparky headlines that are either funny or could offend.
The paper is owned by Rupert Murdoch and part of the News International group. It is sold 6 days of the week and replaced by its sister paper, the News of the World on Sundays.
The paper is famous for topless girls on page 3, it generally has about 4-5 pages of current affairs, about 20 of salacious gossip and news stories, mystic meg on Horoscope duties and a sports section that includes a pullout on Mondays of the weekends football and on other days has a pretty sizeable portion held over for sport.
The paper for me, is easy to read and whilst I donīt agree with everything it says, I do find that its sports coverage is fairly good, especially on Mondays.
I find the gossip column annoying but do enjoy the columns of the TV reviewer, Ally Ross and of Frankie Boyle who is at times incendiary, at others laugh out loud funny.
The paper is easy enough for a young child to read, it is aimed at middle england and the everyday man or woman on the street. There are experts on cars and people like Jeremy Clarkson and Jane Moore write columns.
Overall I think for 20p its worth it for the sporting content, I do sometimes miss out the front half of the paper completely especially when Big Brother or similar tosh is on as it spends too much time on such inanitites, but it can fill 15 minutes of a train ride in the morning sometimes even 25!!
