I bought the Sun Saturday and I actually like it. It is not all doom and gloom. I had a reason to buy it. I saw an advertisement saying to collect tokens for holidays in Britain, Spain, France, Italy and Ireland for only £9.50 So even though I usually read another paper I could not resist this offer and decided that it would be ... If you think about why people read the sun, it isn't always to get the most up to date news, or news at all. People read the Sun because it's fun. The words are short, and jyou don't have to think too much when you read it on the train. And most of use that don't buy it, generally wont pass up a chance for a quick ... Read the complete review

‘The Sun’, along with the now defunct ‘Today’, was officially banned in my house when I was growing up. Coming from a family of solid Labour voters who always took ‘The Mirror’, Rupert Murdoch’s title was viewed with contempt and revulsion due to its support for the hated Tories and its disgraceful ... Why is it that the Sun is the paper with the highest circulation in the land. Every one I talk to doesn't read that "rubbish". I suppose it is a little like masturbating, something we all do but have to deny in public. An apt analogy, masturbating and The Sun newspaper, as this is really what the paper is about. ... No wonder they call it a rag :( - Advantages: Good for when your bored, pictures - Disadvantages: page 3 girls, no page 7 men!, what fun with the sun?

While ‘The Sun’ is often maligned, somewhat unfairly, as a trivial tabloid, reading the paper is a good way to get all the major news – albeit presented in heavily biased articles – quickly. It’s sports coverage is also some of the best around, and it’s team of writers, while outspoken and opinionated, are ... Read the complete review

How can you beleive a paper that changes it political beliefs as and when they believe that they will help circulation? Yes, they do tend to show how the british public feel about a certain subjects, but this is only when this helps in their circulation war with other papers. I do believe that they try to report the news as the british ... Read the complete review

Which I feel puts me in a good opinion to say something. I really dislike The Sun - and that's putting it mildly. I feel that newspapers decide to sell themselves in one of two ways. 1) Sensationalism - creating or riding the next bandwagon in order to sell copy. 2) Relying on honest, quality reporting to build up ... Everyone likes the Sun, no really, how can you not like it? It it's defence, I will say that it is one of the best UK national papers, ever! It takes the most cunning stories, from the gripping edge of the world and places it into a daily paper. Well done. You get news, like where America was devistated, or when Posh Spice ... The S*n is a scurrilous piece of filth that I wouldn't even wipe my nether regions with. Not only is this miserable excuse for a 'news'paper written in childish language, sensationalising every single news story (anybody remember the Belgrano?), it has a stunning history of complete innacuracy. The main reason I ... Read the complete review

homebase is the friendly green DIY store. but its not friendly if you work there with sam and ian as your managers. sam tries to be nice, then tells you to put bulbs out, which is in itself, an illegal move. she then tells you to move, which again is illegal. ian on the other hand, limps around the store all day pullin his ... ~ ~ Before you all start wondering whether I have been eating strange food that has adversely affected my thought processes, (I have, haggis) or have joined some strange Rupert Murdoch worshipping sect while on holiday in Scotland (I haven’t), let me immediately qualify my title for this opinion. I managed to give up smoking. Heck I even managed to stay of curry and beer for 6 weeks on the orders of doctors, but one thing I can't give up is The Sun. I'm not pleased by this. I started buying the paper over 10 years ago, I guess it stems back from when I was a paperboy and it was the easiest thing to read on the ... Read the complete review

Being a scots lad,i only ever really buy two papers, the sun and the daily record(which is affectionately known as the daily ranger, for obvious reasons). Usually the 1st thing i read is the sport, which is fairly good in the sun,but you do tend to get fabricated stories in all tabloids,as well as the sun. The two papers mentioned above have ... I've read opinion after opinion on dooyoo about The Sun and feel I need to leap to its defense. Not one person on the fron tpage on this section thinks its a great paper. In fact, far from it. BUt how fair is this? After all, this is the UK's number one paper so it must be good for something, right? Well, let's see: THE FRONT ... Read the complete review

Right. I don't have a great deal to say about The Sun, except that I despise everything about it- and I'll attempt to explain why. As others have frequently mentioned, it doesn't actually contain much in the way of news- its more like a comic for twenty-somethings upwards. It picks up on a couple of news events each week and ... I have always been a Sun read, because quite simply its the best paper there is on the whole. Ok, the Sun newspaper is not exactly a detailed and intellectual read but when has it ever pretend to be? It does not market itself as such and takes pride in the fact that it appeals to a high readership who want their news quickly digestable.
