Whilst its focus is strongly Scottish this is not portrayed in a Nationalist anti-English view but rather in a real sense of pride. As wells as the news the paper has a lively comic section featuring old Scots favourites Oor Wullie and the Broons showing not much has changed over the years. Probably one of the best points about the Sunday Post is its coverage of Scottish sport. Every game in the Scottish Premier League and the Bell's Scottish League is co...more

Premium Review The Sunday Post: A good Sunday read (388 words)
by - written on 16/06/08 (Very useful, 33 readings)
Rating:

The Sunday Post is published in Glasgow and is predominantly a paper for Scots people. The paper is available in England for exiled Scots or for anyone with more than a passing interest in matters north of the border. Published in tabloid format The Sunday Post is a dynamic, lively newspaper. Its writing style is not dumbed down but nor is it haughty. It seems to know its market well and caters for it very successfully. It understandably has its main focus on news from Scotland but it does give coverage to matters in England and further afield. News from Northern England is well covered hinting that circulation extends into Cumbria and the North East. Whilst ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review As Scottish As Haggis (952 words)

Rating:

~ ~ As a lad growing up at home in Scotland in the 1950’s and 1960’s, this newspaper, The Sunday Post, was the staple reading in our household each and every Sunday. Printed by D.C. Its popularity has declined somewhat since those halcyon days, but the latest ABC figures show that it is still a very popular newspaper, with an average weekly circulation of 1.6 million. ~ ~ So what exactly is it that continues ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Sunday Post: Scotland and Northern England (162 words)
by - written on 16/02/01 (Very useful, 108 readings)
Rating:

The Sunday Post is a family newspaper which is published in Glasgow. It carries new from Scotland and from the north of England, particularly Cumbria and Northumbria. This is a Sunday paper which is suitable for all the family to read. There is no danger of Sunday Sport type pictures, or News of The World smut! The content is interesting and 'family based'. Readers letters and tips are published and there are usually several competitions and a crosssword. If you are tired of the kind of newspaper hype that we get from most of the Sunday paper, then this will be a refreshing change. The problem with buying just this paper on ...  Read the complete review
