Advantages: comprehensive, value for money, weighty

Disadvantages: irrelevant sections, london focus, innaccuracy in tv guide occassionally

Time is up for the Sunday Times! However, not in the way that you may imagine, but in the manner in which the time is up for this comprehensive, complete and authoritative sunday paper, in that no other broadsheet comes close to addressing the range of issues on offer within its pages.

The Sunday Times has a variety of enclosed, yet seperate, 'mini - papers' within, it has sections on travel, appointments, finance, sport, property and an excellent internet guide called 'Doors'. All of the sections offer a range and depth of information that is quite staggering. The travel section gives the lowdown on places and holidays across the spectrum, from the wildly exotic & expensive to the more realistic and affordable for ordinary mortals! The reviews are readable and informative and are often written with the average family in mind. The appointments section, however, is usually not worth reading, unless you are able to compete for high flying jobs in either the city or at a high level in multi-national companies, likewise the property section tends to focus upon hideusly expensive homes in london and the home counties.

however, the remainder of the paper presents excellent value for money, the £1:10 cost gives a weeks worth of reading, we have often not entirely finished the previous weeks paper before the next sunday rolls around! One other excellent section included in the Sunday Times is 'The Culture', which offers a comprehensive review of film, music, theatre and television and offers an eclectic perspective on a wide range of tastes and preferences, and also includes a most useful guide to the entire weeks television, and radio, including all the satellite channles. (But it has not yet caught up on E4!) Finally it provides an entire weeks lining for the cats litter tray! A bargain indeed and the best sunday paper around
