Never mind the quality, feel the weight! I have been buying the Sunday Times for 20 years, and every year it seems to get heavier (or am I just getting past it!). Heavier, yet, alas, lighter. It does not have quite the same gravitas as in pre-Murdoch days, but nonetheless it is still my favourite newspaper.

The investigative tenacity of the Insight Team (who, years ago, broke the tragic Thalidomide Scandal) is a fine example of British journalistic standards at their best.

I do not bother to buy a paper for the rest of the week, as it takes that long to read all that I want to read: the equivalent of a full length novel for a pound, can't be bad!
