Premium Review Top Ten Authors: And in no paticular order.... (1573 words)
by sparkymarky1973 - written on 18.04.08 (Very useful, 92 readings)
Rating:

As you might have guessed from the sheer volume of my reviews (the majority of which focus on my varied choice of reading material), I enjoy reading in my spare time, whilst on the toilet, in the bath in fact at any time when I have more than five minutes to spare and am not looking after my seven month daughter. Yes I am a self-confessed book geek and will read anything from heavy sci-fi/ fantasy to historical fiction through to blood thirsty horror with the odd topical best seller thrown in for good measure. When considering favorite authors, I decided to go with those that have touched me deeply in some way more than ...

Crowned Review Top Ten Authors: But It's Not Christmas, It's Halloween (2847 words)
by jillmurphy - written on 31.10.01 (Very useful, 366 readings)
Rating:

I know, I know: these top tens can be boring. They either tell you too little (no better decisions there then), or they tell you way too much (and everyone falls asleep, so no better decisions there either). Still, Christmas is approaching, lists are being written, and I reckon every child out there should get at least one book in the present pile. So I'm doing children's authors. You get authors and not books partly because I'm not one to restrict your choice too much, and partly because I can't choose either. I've missed lots of classics, and lots of current people, but I do think you'll find at least one thing by each that your children ...
