Advantages: Love the interviews with cast and crew

Disadvantages: Expensive and slightly shameful to buy!

Okay, I admit it... I'm a Torchwood fan. And I'm not a nerdy sixteen year old boy either, but a twenty seven year old professional. There, I said it.

Torchwood magazine is released every two months and it's not cheap- £4.99 an issue. It's not the most professional magazine either, sometimes even I notice the spelling mistakes and layout errors. Some of the articles are little more than filler, rehashing old episodes and repeating them again and again. So why do I buy every single issue? Because it is written and produced with love. The people who write for the magazine are genuine fans and it comes across in their writing. Plus there are often great spoilers for unscreened episodes and brilliant interviews with cast and crew.

So yes, I will continue to buy Torchwood magazine, even if I have to hide it under my copy of the Guardian. It's not classic literature but it's got just the right amount of fannish joy, which more than makes up for the cost and any spelling mistakes.

Summary: Typical of most spin off magazines in style and content but with an extra dose of fan love
