Advantages: glossy, lots to read, good articles and celebrity gossip

Disadvantages: small print, the TV listings pages are cramped and hard to decipher, only two pages of radio listings

The TV Times is a glossy magazine, which usually has an attractive cover of a TV star to tempt you to spend your 69p on it.

Of course, you expect TV listings from the magazine and you will find them. They are laid out fairly clearly, although the print is small and it can be quite confusing.

There is also a lack of any "at-a-glance" type features which tell you what is on the channels at a particular time.

I like the way the TV Times lists most of the actors and actresses in a TV programme though, as I find it useful. I often watch something, wondering what a recognisable actor is called. It is handy to be able to look through the TV listings and knowledgably inform your partner that the bruised and bleeding victim in Casualty used to present Playschool, when you were five !

The radio listings are decidedly poor in comparison though, crammed into only two pages at the back.

The best bit of the TV Times has to be the celebrity gossip on the first twenty or so pages. As well as a regular celebrity interview, there are news items on TV shows and their stars, as well as pictures of celebs in various fashions - often along the lines of "Why on Earth did they wear THAT ?"

The soap news is also very good, usually spanning three pages. Being a fan of Coronation Street, EastEnders and Brookside, this is usually the section I turn to first.

Overall, this is a good magazine, although I do have a few criticisms. Good value for the money.
